About a month ago I had an honour of working with an incredible mom – Kassandra. The session was all about her and her 3-month-old baby boy. She is the sweetest soul also happens to be a blogger.   So I today I am just going to steal her post about the experience with us! The just “got” it and it made me tear up!

“If you would have asked me a year ago if I’d be into taking photos professionally with my baby, I’d probably say no. Even during my pregnancy, I refused to take photos to capture that time before baby arrived. When I was approached by Julia around Knox’s three-month mark, I knew I needed to capture Knox at this stage. The truth is, babies grow so fast – so fast that you’re not exactly sure of the time between giving birth and now. Of course, I felt awkward and maybe a little shy to be in the photos with him but as soon as I walked into Julia’s studio, her warm smile and inviting atmosphere erased all of those feelings.

As I browsed through her beautiful clothing options (for both maternity and post-partum) I knew this was going to be magical. As a new mom, trying to find something to wear for a photo shoot can be daunting and stressful. Some of the questions you ask yourself are  – what do I wear? Will it fit me? Or, I’m not comfortable with purchasing a dress just to wear for one photoshoot – well Julia has it all covered.

And if having a variety of dresses to choose from wasn’t a huge relief, having someone to do your hair and makeup was another load off. I felt completely pampered and beautiful that day thanks to Allyssa Helm.

Julia truly has thought of it all – especially for new moms who may not have the time/energy to come dolled up themselves. As I was getting my hair and makeup done by Allyssa, Julia began shooting Knox. Her warm and playful approach immediately warmed Knox up to her.

During our shoot together, I began realizing just how important having these photos were. Knowing we have this forever allows you to freeze time when your baby is still small enough to hold in your arms. And when someone who is friendly, warm and thinks of absolutely everything so you all you need to is show up – well the excuses of not going through with it become very small.

If you’re expecting, a new mom, or have a small family and never had the chance to take photos together, now’s the time to do it. It’s a small price to pay for having something so special to hold onto for the rest of your life.”

Thank you so much Kassandra, for your beautiful words. I love having you here very much!
